Module B

The participants taking part in module (B) only will follow the itinerary below.

The participants taking part in module (A) and (B) will spend the morning of Day 2 either at the Ghion Hotel for some rest, discovery of the gardens of the hotel or visit of the town with the participants to module (B) only.

All participants will meet for the lunch before the flight to Arba Minch.

Day 1: Departure from Europe to Ethiopia

Departure from Europe during the afternoon or early evening for a direct night flight to Ethiopia and its capital Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Arrival in Addis Ababa and transfer to Arba Minch

Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport early in the morning. Welcome at the airport, breakfast with Ethiopian coffee and private transfer for a visit to the National Museum (time allowing) where cultural and archaeological relics, including a plaster cast of “Lucy,” the 3.2 million-year-old Hominid, are displayed.

After lunch, transfer to the airport for a scheduled flight to Arba Minch (1h), the “entrance door” to the Omo Valley.

Day 3: Arba Minch

After breakfast, visit to the Dorze tribe and their village (30 km drive), famed for their bee hive shaped houses and their weaving skills.

After lunch, boat trip to Lake Chamo where many Hippos, giant crocodiles and many water birds are observable.

Day 4: From Arba Minch to Jinka

Continuation of the journey with a drive to Jinka (260 km, 5h).

En-route visit to the Konso tribal village, who have managed to develop a highly specialized agriculture economy and, in the process, one of Africa’s most fascinating culture, and their Museum. Also if the day falls on a Thursday you will have the chance to witness Key AferMarket.

Day 5: From Jinka to Turmi

After breakfast, drive to the Mursi people (110 km, 2h) for a morning of discovery of this fascinating tribe.

Lunch and afternoon excursion to a Turmi settlement to discover the equally interesting Hamar tribe.

Night at Buska Lodge. Full board.

Day 6: Turmi

This morning, drive to Koricho (140 km, 3h), a settlement for the Karo ethnic groups, which is perhaps the most beautiful with its lofty views over the Omo River and traditional Karo dwelling. During the afternoon, visit one of the Hammar vicinities, where they are known for their colourful hair styles. If the day falls on Saturday, there will be a chance to witness the colorful Dimeka market.

Day 7: From Turmi to Konso

In the morning , drive to Omorate (70 km, 1.5h) to visit the to visit Daassanach people. After lunch drive to Konso (180 km, 3h) for the night.

Day 8: From Konso to Arba Minch and departure

After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Arba Minch (90 km, 2h). After lunch, transfer to the airport for a scheduled flight to Addis Ababa (1h) where you will have access to a day room at the Ghion Hotel to refresh and change clothes.

In the evening, take part in a farewell traditional dinner where you will experience live cultural music and dance. Your tour concludes by being transferred to Bole International Airport to catch your flight home or to your next destination.

The final budget will be communicated after establishing a personalised quotation that will depend on the exchange rates at the time. The minimum number of participants to guarantee the departure is 4 and the group will count a maximum of 8 participants.

– The transfers from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and return, and all transportations by road in privatised 4×4 vehicles (1 vehicle for 2 to 3 participants) driven by specialised driver guides.

– 2 night at the Buska Lodge (or equivalent) in Turmi in a twin or double room with en-suite bathroom and toilets. Full board

– 1 night at the Kanta Lodge (or equivalent) in Konso in a twin or double room with en-suite bathroom and toilets. Full board

– 1 day room at the Ghion Hotel (or equivalent) in Addis Ababa in a twin or double room with en-suite bathroom and toilets. Full board

– All Park Fees and Camping Fees (subject to possible changes)

– International flights to Addis Ababa and return

– Travel or Insurances (cancellation, repatriation, luggage, other risks and any additional insurance)

– Visas to be purchased at arrival in Ethiopia

– The tips (compulsory) to photograph people and tribes, Ethiopian birr equivalent of £40 to £80
