Loita Hills

The Loita Hills are a range of moderate altitude mountains (the highest peak is 2,400 m above sea level) located south of Nairobi and northeast of the Maasai Mara. This area is known for the beauty of its landscapes and, as it is rarely visited, it is one of the last havens of true wilderness in Kenya. It is also widely regarded as a cradle of most traditional Maasai culture and best region in which to discover it.

The Loita Hills encorporate remote forests and wide plains surrounded by beautiful hills dotted with wildlife. They are an ideal area to enjoy the scenery, hike with local Maasai and learn about their culture and communities. The Loita Hills are a wonderfully peaceful place to start or end a trip or a safari in Kenya.
