Churchill

Churchill is a small town of about 800 inhabitants located on the shores of the Hudson Bay, at 58 degrees North latitude. This area was originally discovered by the Danes in 1619 and the first houses were built there in 1689 when the Hudson’s Bay Company sought to establish itself as a trading post.

Today Churchill is known as the “world capital of polar bears“, as it is in this city that it is possible to observe the polar bears rally in autumn while waiting the deep freeze of the Bay to continue their migration North, and it is from Churchill that one can access Wapusk National Park to observe the young cubs.
