Several million wildebeest, accompanied by tens of thousands of zebras and gazelles, migrate annually through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. This migration normally arrives in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park during the months of May and June, offering a unique opportunity to observe the crossings of the Grumeti River as these ungulates migrate towards the Kenyan plains.
This period is the most active time in this area of the Serengeti National Park which also counts many landscapes of forests along the rivers.
They form the permanent habitat of large numbers of buffaloes and elephants, while the Grumeti River itself is famous for its huge hippos and crocodiles that wait for the migration to pass through their territory!
