SeVi Boutique Hotel Zanzibar

SeVi Boutique Hotel Zanzibar is a picturesque hotel with traditional-style bungalows and a luxury villa scattered among verdant, tropical gardens filled with palms and colorful blossoms. It’s settled in a small bay in Kigomani, a fishermen village which is part of Matemwe, next to Unguja’s longest strip of sand facing the sapphire waters of the Indian Ocean across Mnemba Island. It is the ultimate retreat to cast off worries and spend time reconnecting with one’s spiritual self.

Guests can relax either walking barefoot on the beach when the tide is out or meditating in their bungalow before they let a wellness practitioner pamper them at the spa with a bespoke Zanzibari ritual that restores their zen. For those interested in diving, a Dive Point PADI centre to is at the doorstep to explore the coral reef and the Mnemba Marine Park.

The thirteen identical bandas (bungalows) and a charming villa are scattered throughout the tropical garden. All bandas are designed to honour the building traditions of the island and flaunt exposed white brickwork and rustic rooftops thatched in Makuti- dried palm leaves – a technique that is equally effective and economical as it is environmentally friendly. It’s all sustainable, ethical, and eco-aware inside – the decorations, from furniture to fabrics and accent objects, are all made in Zanzibar, many handcrafted by Kigomani and Matemwe villagers.

High standing amenities enhance the comfort of the rooms and guests have everything they need for a stress-free vacation: safety deposit box, hairdryer, complimentary organic toiletries, mini fridge, and kettles to fix a hot cup of coffee or a tea whenever they want.

Last but not least, facing the beach, the restaurant is as much a romantic setting as it is a foodie destination. The décor is straightforward and modest, with simple wooden tables and chairs and a range of handmade artifacts from the local villagers. The menu draws upon the flavors of the Zanzibari spices and herbs. It sources fresh fish from the Kigomani fishermen and most ingredients used by the culinary team are sourced locally too.
