Rondo Retreat

Rondo Retreat was built as a Christian Sanctuary in 1948 in the heart of the Kakamega rainforest. Since then it has been “opened to the public” and it is now a great homestead consisting of one main house of clapboard and colonial era corrugated iron plus five cottages in the same traditional style. The fifteen en-suite double rooms have each their own character as they have been decorated individually.

The lodge serves hearty English breakfasts, midday lunches, and candlelit dinners in a bright yet cosy dining room, in front of a crackling fire if the air is cool. It is a lovely and unique place to stay for a few nights and discover the biodiversity of Kakamega National Park.
