Plantation Lodge

Ideally located between Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, Plantation Lodge is a haven of greenery and peace ideal for resting between two safaris in northern Tanzania.

This former agricultural estate has been transformed into eighteen rooms and four suites decorated in a style combining the arts of East African countries. Thus, the beds are made in mnenga, a light and robust local wood, and several local artists and craftsmen worked on the decoration of the rooms. They all have a large bed with mosquito net, an en-suite shower and bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer, a kettle with a selection of teas, a safe and a veranda or a terrace with a view of the garden.

This charming lodge has a magnificent garden, calm and just disturbed by the song of birds. The large lawns, numerous trees and coffee plants give it a very pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant offers a four-course menu every evening. Fruits, vegetables and salads are grown on site or sourced from trusted local suppliers, as is the meat. The bar, with its wine cellar and large terrace, is a popular haunt.

Plantation Lodge is the boutique lodge of choice in the Karatu region.
