Nambwa Lagoon Camp is a new addition to Nambwa Tented Lodge. It is located on the lagoon side of Nambwa Island, in Bwabwata National Park in Namibia, where large numbers of elephants congregate during the dry season.
With just five tents on raised wooden platforms, this is a small, intimate camp that can accommodate up to twelve people.
This camp is a short walk from the Nambwa Tented Lodge, which is actually the reception camp. Although the two are technically separate, guests of the Nambwa Lagoon Camp eat their meals and participate in Lodge activities, which is why there is no central area at the Nambwa Lagoon Camp itself.
Each of the five rooms at the camp is set on a raised wooden platform, and has its own small deck with two wicker chairs overlooking the streams of the Kwando River and the flood plains beyond. This is a good place to sit and watch the birds and wildlife, and have a drink by the river.
This accommodation, particularly suitable for small groups, couples or friends traveling together, is an alternative with excellent value for money – less expensive and less luxurious than the Nambwa Tented Lodge while still benefiting from its services.
