Quietly located at the northern tip of Pemba Island, the Manta Resort is an elegant property with direct access to the crystal clear waters and white sand beaches of the Pemba Canal.

The lodge is organized around a large swimming pool and beautiful gardens that offer breathtaking views of the sea. The main lodge has a spa, and an excellent restaurant that offers a variety of fresh seafood caught locally as well as dishes of beef, chicken and vegetables, some of which have a distinct touch of Pemba. Most meals are served on the main decking overlooking the ocean, with the pool and beach deck serving as a change of scenery whenever possible. The well-stocked bar serves drinks throughout the day on the beach and throughout the lodge.

The lodge’s 20 rooms are split into three categories: there are six Seafront Villas, four Garden Villas (Superior Garden Rooms), and ten Garden View Rooms (Garden Rooms). The luxurious Seafront Villas feature a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, and a sun terrace designed to make the most of the sunset. The four Superior Garden Rooms are located further back from the sea, while offering a partial view of the sea through the vegetation of the garden. They are a set of two en-suite bedrooms, interconnected, making them ideal for families. They have a four-poster king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a private thatched roof terrace, and they can be configured as a room with two twin beds.

Finally, the Garden Rooms are the simplest accommodation solution. These cottages are surrounded by pretty gardens and each have a king-size bed, a makuti thatched roof, and a private bathroom.

The diving around Pemba Island is breathtaking. The unspoiled coral reefs surrounding the entire island make Pemba one of the best dive sites in the world. It is the perfect place to start a diving adventure with one of the healthiest coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, an average water temperature of 26°C, and Africa’s best visibility of at least 30 to 40 metres almost every day!
