Le Camp Amoureux

Located in the Marofandilia Forest, about 44km north of Morondava, Le Camp Amoureux is the most comfortable accommodation within reasonable proximity of Kirindy. The simple dome tents, situated on wooden platforms and protected with a thatched roof, each have a private outdoor en-suite lavatory, a basin, and a bucket shower. Mosquito nets are provided.

Hearty meals are served in the restaurant, above which is a communal sitting area.

Le Camp Amoureux is one of two establishments in Madagascar to have been certified by Fair Trade Tourism in February 2016. It is managed by proactive NGO FANAMBY (the Malagasy ‘arm’ of Conservation International).

Night walks in the area are rewarding – and this is the best site to get a glimpse of Madame Berthe’s mouse lemur (smallest of all primates).
