Located on the southwestern shore of Lamu Island, backed by dunes and palm trees, Kizingoni Kabanas is a selection of seven Swahili beach villas to rent on Kizingoni Beach, an immense and largely deserted white sand beach only approached by a few fishermen delivering fish to the cook.
This small eco-lodge is a genuine island retreat with emphasis on rest, relaxation and enjoyment of the preserved ecosystem of Lamu Island. The Kabanas are designed to offer cool, comfortable accommodation and each kabana has its own large netted double bed, bathroom and private terrace: some made entirely of palm thatch, others with elevated coral foundations.
Sited on a raised sand dune at the centre of Kizingoni Beach, the Kabanas share a pool/dining area that has panoramic views of the channel and the ocean. The chefs cook lovely meals using local products, which a lot of dishes based on freshly caught fish and seafood.
Guests can have access to a speed boat, on request, and have full use of the Kizingoni Beach water sports, safari and massage services, as well as going on day trips to Lamu or on swimming with dolphins excursions (subject to season and weather). There is also the opportunity of a short dhow sundowner cruise on Lamu channel.
