Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is a fairly new eco-lodge that offers pleasant accommodation in a nature reserve between the Kalahari Desert and the Great Karoo.
The main building is located on a natural island in the dry lake (Vlei). It has a traditional African thatched roof and can be reached only by a wooden walkway of 120m. It houses a bar, an excellent restaurant, and a pool with terrace and views of the water point. It also offers free wifi.
The 12 comfortable, air-conditioned chalets are built with thatched roofs and a refined safari style. Each of them has a small outdoor couch to observe the springboks and other koudous as well as the fabulous sunset. The lodge also offers its visitors the opportunity to explore the area thoroughly with the Trans Kalahari hike over three days and two nights (accommodation in luxury safari tent).
