In a remote area south of Ruaha National Park, Jongomero Camp is beautifully secluded and offers the opportunity to experience pure wilderness.
This camp has a refined yet authentic atmosphere, and it is a great option for travelers who want to go on a safari while staying in a camp with a higher level of service and comfort. Another advantage of this camp is that there are no other camps nearby, so visitors have the wildlife to themselves.
In harmony with the surrounding nature, the camp nestles under the trees bordering the dry Jongomero river, a natural passage for animals in search of water. The main boma is located under ancient river trees, offering stunning views of the Jongomero River and the bush beyond. The food is excellent, with fresh mangoes, papayas, bread, and Tanzanian coffee for breakfast, light tasty lunches, and three course dinners in the evening. After dinner, visitors can retreat to the comfortable armchairs of the small bar, which is lit by a campfire.
The eight tented rooms at Jongomero Camp are elevated on wooden platforms, and offer breathtaking views of the river – offering a view of at least 180 degrees. All tents are large, elegant canvas construction, with quality furniture on polished wooden floors and en-suite shower rooms.
Jongomero’s seasoned guides allow visitors to experience the rich biodiversity that Ruaha offers during 4×4 safari, walking safaris and flying camps.
