Isoitok Camp maintains a unique partnership with the Maasai communities that surround it through its “African Roots Foundation” (ARF). The Foundation is the platform through which the camp owners strive to run sustainable, small-scale projects aimed at improving the daily lives of the communities surrounding the camp.
An amount of $10 per person is billed for village development and donated to ARF for future community development projects, such as the provision of drinking water filters (“A Gift of Water”) and low cost solar lighting (“A Gift of Light”).
All proceeds are donated to the foundation, ensuring that the efforts are sustainable and responsible as tourism partners with Maasai neighbours who can be visited as part of a stay at this camp.
The camp itself is located in a place rich in wild savannah, at an altitude of 1,075 metres. It backs onto the Losimingorti mountain range, which serves as a natural corridor for wildlife from the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Manyara Nature Reserve.
Isoitok Camp offers more than just a place to rest after a day of safari; offering visitors a true immersion in the African bush and its sounds.
With just 8 “luxury” tents, visitors are assured of a private experience and personal service. These tents, with wooden doors, include beds of different configurations, bedside tables, desk and chair, wardrobe, and a vanity unit with mirror and running cold water. Toilets and showers are separate, and are shared.
