Hotel Tayka del Desierto

Ideally located for visits to the lagoons of the region, the Hotel Tayka del Desierto is the only accommodation in the area and just 40 minutes from Laguna Colorada.

It is a small lodge located in the middle of a stunning desertic landscape, and its design allows it to blend harmoniously into the impressive Siloli desert expanse with its towering mountains in the background. The Hotel Tayka del Desierto may be the most remote hotel in existence. There is literally nothing anywhere within many miles of this place. It exists solely to support the visitors to Bolivia’s remote and rugged desert southwest, with the supplies all shipped in from Uyuni.

The hotel was built by four local families and it is very much in tune with its environment, with friendly service and local food. It can host up to 47 guests in basic but comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms. On the roof there are solar panels that generate the electricity and hot water.
