Hotel Maribela

Built in an appealing design inspired by the famous rock churches of Lalibela, Hotel Maribela is located in the heart of Lalibela Mountains.

Maribela is a special name. It means Lalibela in Amharic, which literally means ‘honey eater’. This name was given to King Lalibela, a saint and the builder of the city and the famous churches. Legend has it that on the day of his birth many bees indicated his future greatness by surrounding him.

The common areas of the hotel include a large restaurant and rooftop dining terrace serving Continental and Ethiopian dishes, as well as a main bar. The staff are very attentive to the wishes of the guests and the hotel is among the most comfortable in this region of Ethiopia.

Each of the 20 rooms has a private balcony with day-beds from which to enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Large soft towels, slippers, high speed internet connection and well-fitted bathrooms complete the offering.
