Desert Homestead Lodge offers relaxed hospitality with a natural atmosphere. Early in 2014, the lodge was renovated and upgraded with environment-friendly technology; thus, solar power is now the only energy source for power generation and water heating.
The lodge is ideally located only 30 km from Sesriem, the gateway to the Namib Naukluft National Park.
The views from any part of the lodge are panoramic, and the main house, set on a hill and including restaurant, bar, lounge, library and swimming pool, offers the most impressive vista.
Accommodation is in 20 comfortable thatched en-suite chalets, designed with little touches in mind that characterize the Homestead’s homely hospitality. Meals can be enjoyed within the indoor dining room complete with candles and fireplace, or, alternately, on the traditional wide farm veranda with lanterns and stars adding to the ambience. For keen horse riders, morning and afternoon rides can be arranged.
