Chada Katavi Camp

Nestled under the dappled shade of tall acacias and tamarind trees, at the edge of the scenic Chada floodplain, is the beautiful Chada Katavi Camp – a secluded, classic safari-style camp, located remotely to give its visitors an unrivaled view of wildlife in a pristine wilderness.

Chada Katavi Camp offers incredible panoramic views, which can be enjoyed from the privacy of the tents or from the dining room.

The common area of the camp consists of a tent-lounge-library area where visitors can sit and relax. Afternoon tea is usually served here, before heading out for the afternoon game drive, while breakfast and lunch are served in the dining tent, and dinner is served in the outdoor dining room on the terrace under the stars. There is also a campfire located in front of the camp where guests usually gather for drinks and appetizers before dinner.

The six tents of Chada Katavi Camp are set among the trees and face the plains. They all enjoy great privacy thanks to generous spacing; each room has large gauze windows that let in the breeze but keep insects out. Each tent is decorated with subtle natural fabrics and palm mats, and has a comfortable large bed and a desk. Outside, canvas chairs are available on the veranda. The rooms are simple in design, yet comfortable and well equipped. There is an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, and an outdoor shower with a bucket – enjoying a refreshing shower during the heat of the day while watching elephants roam in the plain is an amazing experience.

Adventures include twice daily game drives in open 4 × 4 safari vehicles and bush walks with an armed guide.
