West Falklands

In the West Falklands, the plan is to land on Carcass Island to encounter nesting Magellanic penguins along with oystercatchers and the flightless steamer duck, who is a permanent resident.

Weather permitting, passengers will disembark and explore Saunders Island, a penguin hotspot that is one of the only places in the world where four species of penguins nest side-by-side. Here one can find gentoo, rockhopper, king and Magellanic penguin rookeries as well as nesting black browed albatross.

Participants can sit on the white sandy beach, watching the penguins come and go while the striped caracaras patrol above them.
