Day 1: Flight London – Winnipeg

Arrival at Winnipeg at the end of the day where you will meet with the tour leader and photographer Vincent Gesser.

Transfer to The Grand hotel at Winnipeg Airport for the night. Bed & Breakfast.

Day 2: From Winnipeg to Chesnaye via Churchill

Early departure from your hotel for the 07:00 flight to Churchill. Arrival around 08:40 for a day tour of the Polar Bear centre of Manitoba. Discovery of the frozen Hudson Bay.  Optional rental of special “low temperature“ equipment.

Free lunch and dinner.

Departure by train at the beginning of the evening with a stop on demand at Chesnaye where you will be greeted by the driver/guides of the lodge who will transfer you to Watchee Lodge in specialist track vehicles.

Night at Watchee Lodge. Full board & activities included.

Day 3 to day 8, day 10 or day 11: Exploration of the hibernation and denning area of Wapusk National Park

These days are dedicated to polar bears: research, observation and photography of polar bears, in this region rich in hibernation dens, with a main objective of tracking and finding bear mothers with young cubs.

Weather conditions permitting, most evenings are devoted to the observation and the photography of aurora borealis (Northern Lights) that are often present and easy to observe from the vicinity of the lodge.

After returning to the lodge, Vincent Gesser offers workshops to review the pictures taken during the day, respond to the questions and give photographic advice. After dinner, weather conditions permitting, he leads sessions of night photography focusing on the Northern Lights.

Day 9 or day 11 or day 12: From Chesnaye to Winnipeg

Departure from the lodge around 06:00 and transfer, on the specialist track vehicles, to the railway stop on request of Chesnaye to board the train to Churchill.

Free lunch and dinner.

Return of any “low temperature“ equipment rented.

Access to a day-room (option) for refreshing and changing clothes.

Transfer to Churchill Airport around 15:00 for your scheduled flight to Winnipeg.

Transfer to The Grand hotel at Winnipeg Airport for the night. Bed & Breakfast.

Day 10 or day 12 or day 13: Return flight or to your next destination

Breakfast and return flight or to your next destination.

Minimum of 5 participants required to guarantee the departure of the trip.

The final budget will be communicated after establishing a personalised quotation that will depend on the exchange rates at the time.
