Mountain gorillas

Mountain gorillas (or Gorilla beringei beringei) are peaceful and majestic but endangered primates. The number of wild gorillas reached a minimum of about 300 individuals at the end of the 80s.

But thanks to the efforts of the three governments that are part of the region, Rwanda, through the Rwanda Development Board, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the mountain gorilla population has stabilized and started to grow. It has now reached 800 individuals.
