Tanzania

With a surface area of 945,000 sqkm and a coastline line of approximatively 800 km, Tanzania is the 13th largest African country. Notwithstanding its size, a massive 38% of the land area has been set aside for conservation which explains why Tanzania has 16 large national parks, among which the famous Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation area. This country has also the highest peak of the African continent, Mount Kilimanjaro, which is 5,895 m high, at its northern border.

As Tanzania is highly biodiverse, it hosts a wide variety of animals and it is, with Kenya, the place where one can observe the Great Migration, an extraordinary annual migration of two million wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes.

Safaris in Tanzania can take place almost any time during the year and include natural experiences as diverse as the season of birth in January, migration in the Serengeti in May and June, to climbing Kilimanjaro, to discovering primates on the shores of Lake Tanganika, and to walking safaris in the stunning but less frequently visited parks of the south.
